Ms. Hummel focuses her practice on Elder Law, Special Needs Planning, Estate Planning, Guardianship, and Estate and Trust Administration. Known for her empathy, technical expertise, and dedication to service, Ms. Hummel helps individuals and families navigate some of life's most important and sensitive transitions with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

Based in Montgomery County, Ms. Hummel's work lies at the intersection of long-term planning and public benefits eligibility. She counsels clients on Medicaid and other programs for seniors and individuals with disabilities, guides families through the complexities of long-term care planning, and assists in the creation and administration of special needs trusts. Ms. Hummel also represents clients in guardianship matters, ensuring that every plan she develops protects both personal dignity and financial security.

Licensed in Maryland and District of Columbia, Ms. Hummel brings a national perspective to her practice, shaped by more than a decade of experience in Medicare and Medicaid policy research. Before joining Landsman Law Group, she worked at several law firms, and was a Policy Director for a national trade association, a consultant for healthcare providers, and an analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where she focused on long-term care policy and the operation of public benefits programs.​

Ms. Hummel is deeply involved in the legal and professional community. She currently serves as Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, is a Council Member of the Elder and Disability Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, and is an active member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and ProVisors (DC/Metro).
